Traditional Hatha Yoga is a holistic yogic path, including moral disciplines, physical exercises (e.g., asanas (postures) and Pranayama (breath control), and meditation. The Hatha yoga predominantly practiced in the West consists of mostly asanas (postures) and exercise. Hatha represents opposing energies: hot and cold (fire and water, following the same concept as the yin-yang), male and female, positive and negative. Hatha yoga attempts to balance mind and body via physical exercises, or "asanas", controlled breathing, and the calming of the mind through relaxation and meditation. Asanas teach poise, balance & strength and are practiced to improve the body's physical health and clear the mind in preparation for meditation in the pursuit of enlightenment.


Kirtan Monthly Ravens Wing:
With Sally Noel & Sal Annunziato & Friends! Kirtan is a yoga gathering where we chant the many names of the divine energy. Chants are typically in Sanskrit, invoking unusual power to quiet the mind and penetrate the heart with love. Chants are led in call and response ranging from meditative to grooving, creating joy and peace! Very fun, no experience necessary. donations accepted thank you. Sally was first exposed to Kirtan while living at Kripalu, greatly inspired by her teacher Indukanta, Sally quickly fell in love with the freedom chanting created. Sal is a yoga teacher/rock musician whose great talent both vocally, musically (he plays guitar) and uplifting spirits led him to kirtan and the power it has for feeling euphoric!!
